Rog's medicine pouch

Rog's medicine pouch, 2021.
Glass beads on stroud, smoked moosehide.
4" x 24.25"
Created during my grandpa's brief diagnosis with cancer leading up to his death later on in 2021, I made him this medicine pouch, which he wore everyday around his neck. Inside, he would carry the note I wrote him alongside his hearing aids. When I visited him at his home in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, we would walk to the creek in his trailer park, as depicted in this piece. After his passing, the medicine pouch made it's way back into my possession.
